This excessive and repetitive movement with people who overusing the phone increases the possibility of musculoskeletal problems such as neck and wrist pain, and these pains can affect the quality of daily activities.
In Saudi Arabia, studies were conducted on university students.
One of them is at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah looking for a relationship between excessive use of mobile phones and thumb and wrist pain. The results revealed that 24.4% of the study participants had pain in the thumb and wrist due to overuse.
And the other study of students of King Saud University in Riyadh found that people who use excessive mobile phones in addition to musculoskeletal pain negatively affect the quality of sleep, the practice of physical activity and the level of academic performance.
